Our defense had only 46 points scored on them all season , not to bad . The only lose we had was in the championship game 14- 2. We were inside the 10 twice and didn't score. That was my fault . When all said and done, we were 10-1, #2 out of 33 teams . Your tapes got me on the right track to the championship game. Thanks! This year was the second year that our players ran the offense and we ended up 8-2 and finished second in our conference. This was a great turnaround, and I greatly attribute it to our offense. In fact, we ran the ball for over 3,100 yards which was more offense than we had in the last two years combined. Even though I will be graduating a lot of seniors this year, our younger players really like this offense. I want to keep building on our success. I know you are still deep into your season, but was wondering if you do any clinics in the midwest area this winter or spring. I would love to continue to learn more about this offense from you. Thank you for all you have done for football and good luck in the playoffs. Looking forward to hearing from you.

We have other schools coming to our games and scouting us then losing forty-five points. This offense is awesome and I wish it would be implemented somewhere at the varsity level in the Detroit/Michigan area. Its a great offense to run. Thanks Coach.

The second game was to our worst loss from last year, this year we are only focusing on running DW, we are going to run our 7 plays to perfection. We brought Coach Markham in to work with our staff in February and brought him back out to work with our kids at our summer camp at Snow College in Utah and it was worth every penney. We have won our first 3 games by the combined score of 137 to 25 and 13 of those points were scored on our Freshmen. We had a combined record of 2 and 14 over the last two years and this year we are ranked # 1 in the state. We are averaging 462 yards a game on the ground and opposing coaches are scratching their heads. As far as I'm concerned Coach Markhams Double Wing is the gospel of football.

Comment: I believe the double wing is the most versitile offense anybody could run. It makes a defense cover 4 immediate recievers while still equipping the offense with 4 backs. Whether you are a misdirection guy or prefer I back leads, this offense can adapt to your teams needs. I currently run the typical wing-T plays(belly, buck, waggle) but at the same time run the midline option, veer option, speed option,etc...
We also incorporate an inside lead, outside lead, and toss plays, with traps off of each. Besides the run versitility, the double wing offers 1,2,3,or 4 reciever routes. ....... And by the way the 53 front is probably the best defensive front to defend it. (Sometimes you may mix in a disguised 52 defense. I love it.

What I saw him accomplish following your principles and beliefs with the double wing was a tribute to your teaching. That year Coach Gibson led his team to a 8-3 record (previous 4 years Orange was 3-37), and their 1st appearance in the playoffs in over 10 years. This past season Coach Gibson bettered his record to 11-2 making the semi-finals and being named coach of the year in Orange County by both the L.A. Times,

Coach Gibson is a great example of a hard working coach that got his team to believe in the double wing, and have great success. Where did Gibson get most of his ideas for his offense?

You have my permission to put my information regarding our 10/03/2003 game on your website.
We scored 102 points against the Sitka Storm Senior Division football team. The score was 102-22. My team, the Juneau Youth Football League (JYFL) 49ers, were a Senior Division team of 13-14 year old players. Sitka had 2-3 players that were older. They are always a tough team to play and they were not hapless. I understand they won 4 games last year. But the Double WIng was too much for them.
Eight different players scored touchdowns. When we played Sitka on their home field in early September, since we had a comfortable lead (58-0) we started kneeling the ball on first, second and third downs--punting on fourth down. We did this in the middle of the 3rd quarter and they found that particularly distasteful, and they let us know it. On October 3rd, we didn't kneel.
Thanks for your great tapes,

That gave us a 5-3 record and earned us a spot in the playoffs as the last seed. in Game 1 of playoffs we beat a team with 8-0 record, game 2 we beat an 8-1 team, and last week we beat 8-1-1 team! That victory means we are Nothern Champions and play for County Championship next Saturday!

A great offense that works and is fun to play and coach.

No one has been able to stop our offense except ourselves and the kids just love it!! We're one of the top scoring teams in the league despite not having the fastest or best athletes. Opposing coaches, parents and even high school coaches often approach me to ask about the DW and they're amazed that I can teach 10-12 yr. olds how to pull, trap etc. They all just marvel at this "mixmaster" offense and wonder how the heck they could stop it. I have received compliments from former college and pro players who coach teams that we compete against and they say it is the toughest "O" they face and it's very demoralizing for their defenses. The DW has received nothing but the highest praise from many savvy, experienced football guys in this area and we owe it all to your system. Keep it simple and keep runnin'.
